our accomodation

On arrival in Chengdu, we stayed in a fantastic 6 star hotel suite...Oakwood Residence.

Its a 2 bedroom suite with a fully equipped kitchen down to kitchen scissors and wine opener and a very modern spacious living area with 42in LED TV.

We wish we dont have to move ....could live in there "forever " .

Since its a 2 bedroom suite, to our delight our housemate is Jonathan, an American true Hasher. He's our favorite and only housemate through out the trip....he always volunteer for the smaller room ! gentleman indeed.

and this is OAKWOOD RESIDENCE ...
the amazing kitchen !!

bed is so super comfy, you could sleep forever

12midnite ! at the lobby upon arrival..all waiting to check in

just round the back of Oakwood Residence, there's a little 7-Eleven cafe! Early in the morning they serve hot soybean drink ( my favorite) and hot dimsum, hot breads, hot tea, hot foods even hot Japanese foods ...and in 7-Eleven.  Its only 2 min walk to the back of Hotel.
And just in front of this hotel to the left, 2 min walk also is the fantastic delicious seafood chok or broth ! We had to go back for seconds...

On the way from Chengdu to Jiu Zhai Ko, we stayed in this very beautiful modern boutique Hotel in the middle of "nowhere"...and the hotel is called "Rest Tree Hotel" the decor is surprisingly so up to date and chic, its like it doesnt belong there in that little village....and to our amazement, the floor in our room is even heated !! since the temperature then was -5C nights and 3C daytime, we were so glad to stay in this superb hotel. Unfortunately only one night....

But our last destination ie JiuZhaiko....the hotel was a bit downgraded as compared to our first two hotels ...we were pampered by the city hotels.

However the Sunshine Hotel at JiuZhaiko has the advantage in its location. Its just 5 mins walk to the Park entrance to the UNESCO park of Jiuzhaiko.  Very convenient. The decor and facilities are sort of 2star graded...in fact we had to request for a change of room cos the first room was smelly and smoky and lighting was dim.
